Can’t get enough of the beautiful fjords? Try our extended version of the Lysefjord Safari, containing more spectacular sights, more history and a taste of local delicacies, inspired by the vikings!
After an encriching cruise in the Lysefjord, we will dock at one of the islands nearby Stavanger, and there will be a short stop onshore, where we will have a snack. It is not a full meal, but a taste of local food. Enjoy som dried or smoked fish from the same fjord we are cruising(!) and other, handcrafted products of the season. Moisten your throat with some refreshing juice made on one of the farms in the fjord.

One of the highlights of the journey is the narrow gap into the Vagabond Cave and view Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) from sea level.
Lysefjord Safari Premium will make you feel like a real Viking for a few hours, and you will experience where they lived, sailed and what they ate. The Vikings are known to be real seafarers. They crossed the many seas on raids and missions with their uniquely crafted Viking ships. Their journeys were long and weary, often lasted for several years.

Tour Plan
1) Meeting Point
Meet our captain at the pier next to the fishmarket (Fisketorget), the address is Strandkaien 37. Gather up togheter with the other passengers and wait for further instructions. Have your ticket ready. You will get dressed up in comfortable, waterproof gear and lifejackets for your safety. After a quick safety brief, you will enter the boat and find a soft, comfy seat to sit on. We have waterproof bags for your luggage and personal belongings. You can hold your camera ready during the ride or put your mobile phone in one of the pockets in the suit.
2) Departure
Before we depart from Stavanger, we will suit you up in floating suits and life jackets. A safety brief will also be held by the captain. Once everybody is ready, we take a seat in the boat and are ready to go!
3) Cruiseing out of the Harbour
The trip starts slowly along the beautiful harbour of Stavanger. We pass several historical buildings and places on our way out. On the left/port side you will see the Old Town, with many small wooden houses, still in use. On the right/starboard side you will see the modern Stavanger with a mixture of offices, shops, light industry and churches! Close to the waterfront you will se the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. Remember it is Norwegian courtesy to wave to other passing boats!

5) Cruising between the Islands
We are now cruising in a comfortable speed adjusted to the weather conditions to make sure everybody is having a good time. We will now pass some small islands and islets nearby Stavanger. Watch out for sea eagles and porpoises in this area! The fjord we are heading towards now is called Høgsfjord. You can spot a couple of fish farms here, where salmon is produced.
6) The famous Lysefjord
This is the icing on the cake! Enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way in to the fjord. Here we will do several stops for pictures and story telling. Including the Vagabond Cave, Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and Whisky Falls. If we are lucky we will meet some of the sea eagles that lives around the fjord.
7) A Taste of Viking Food
We will have a short stop ashore, so you can get a taste of traditional Viking Foods, and get to know how the foods were produced, along the fjords, centuries ago, and are still handcrafted in the same way today, by local craftsmen.
8) Returning to Stavanger
After we have enjoyd our time in the fjord, we do need to get back to the city. If you want to switch seat (move up front, or back), now is the time. The ride back will be non-stop so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride!

We are located in the bottom of the harbour of Stavanger – next to the fishmarket. The adress is Strandkaien 37, 4005 Stavanger. This is where we will embark the boats and start our adventures!
How to get there
Stavanger is a small city – you can easily walk from one end to another! As long as you are in downtown Stavanger, you can just go for a short walk to find us. Our docking spot is in the bottom of the harbour. There is a big sign next to it, so we are easy to spot.
